Sometimes love finds you when you are not looking for it, and much closer than you ever expected. For us, it was only a few doors away.

After a rooftop conversation left us both thinking it would be our only date, we decided we had already chosen to spend the night together, so we might as well have fun with it. We skipped across crosswalks on our way to an arcade, let go of every expectation and simply enjoyed each other. That night became the first of more than 50 first dates.

Coffee dates, slow mornings, new activities, nights out and trips are not breaks from our life. They are how we stay present, keep learning about each other and continue building it together. We are still discovering new parts of one another every day, which can make even an ordinary plan feel like another first date.

LDK began as an inside joke inspired by Lana Del K, our imaginary album name when we first started dating. Somehow, it became the perfect name for the life we were creating together.

Along with Weenie and Nala, our pups, we are exploring San Diego and everywhere beyond it, experiencing the places people cannot stop talking about and capturing the moments we will always want to remember.

For us, a visit is about more than ordering what everyone talks about. We want to know why a business is there, how it began, who brought it to life and what makes people care about it. Sometimes the most memorable part is the food. Sometimes it is the story, the people or the purpose behind the place.

We share the full experience so you can understand what makes a place worth knowing, while inspiring more couples to stay curious, keep dating each other and have fun with the life they are building together.
