Cutwater is already one of Lana’s favorite San Diego stops, so turning the Miramar tasting room into House of Spirits gave us an easy reason to return for Halloween. The room leaned into the season without losing the distillery energy that makes Cutwater feel like Cutwater.
We went for the themed food and cocktails in the main tasting room. The Frozen Pumpkin Spice White Russian delivered the fall moment, while the canned Lime Margarita kept a familiar Cutwater favorite on the table.
The lemon, salt and pepper chicken wings were to die for. They were the part of the order we would absolutely return for, and the chorizo queso gave us the kind of warm shareable that belongs next to a round of Halloween drinks.

The main tasting room takeover stands on its own. The Cutwater Crypt is a separate reservation only experience, so you can choose between an easy seasonal visit or a more planned Halloween night.

The 2026 House of Spirits Halloween takeover runs through October 31. Confirm the current event calendar before heading over.
Walk in for the main room
Walk ins are welcome for the general tasting room, although reservations are appreciated. You do not need the Crypt booking to order from the themed menu.
Reserve the Cutwater Crypt
The Crypt runs from September 29 through October 31 as a separate 90 minute experience. Tickets are listed at $30 per person and reservations are required.
There is also a pairing tour
The House of Spirits pairing tour runs through October 31. The 50 minute distillery tour includes tastings and sweets and is listed at $30 per person.
