Lana does not like eggs, so Eggtuck was not exactly at the top of her list. Kyle was not hyped either. From the outside, it seemed like a pretty basic egg sandwich place.
Then we tried the Original Royal West. Lana wanted another bite immediately, and Kyle enjoyed it too. The sandwich earned an 8 out of 10 from Lana and a 7 out of 10 from Kyle.
The Biscoff Latte was the surprise we did not expect to find here. Kyle rated it 7.4 out of 10, and Lana agreed.
Good enough to recommend and order again, but not a place we would go out of our way for.
We each choose only one off plan meal a week, and this would not be the place we would use it. Even without a meal plan, Eggtuck would not be a special trip for us. It was still good, and someone looking for a casual breakfast sandwich in Little Italy may enjoy it more than we did.

Eggtuck’s idea is simple: elevate breakfast through soft scrambled egg sandwiches, sauces made in house and coffee brewed in house. The San Diego shop brought that signature format to Little Italy.

$6.50. A New Orleans latte with Biscoff spread, cold foam and cookie crumble.
Lana’s reaction: She went in unexcited, wanted more after the first bite and rated the sandwich 8 out of 10.
Kyle’s reaction: He was skeptical too, enjoyed the sandwich and rated it 7 out of 10. The unexpected Biscoff Latte earned a 7.4 out of 10 from both of us.

There are self service tablets as well as people available to take your order. We did not encounter a line.

The bright, aesthetic space had plenty of seating during our visit.
