Up to ten drinks for $17 a week? That stopped us in our tracks at Hola Coffee. During our visit, Vanessa told us about Hola Locals, a membership launching with a first wave of 50 spots. We immediately wished more neighborhood cafés offered something like it.

Vanessa hosted us in a tiny, beautiful space that felt more like visiting a friend’s apartment abroad than walking into a standard coffee shop. The intimate setting made it easy to slow down and enjoy the visit.

We tried a hot Maple Vanilla Bean and an iced Chantilly Lace, then added the Hola Empanada with chimichurri. That empanada was phenomenal and earned an LDK favorite from both of us. Leave room for something to eat when you order your coffee here.

We came away wanting a membership like this at home and another empanada.

The brownie deserves its own mention. Vegan and gluten free, unbelievably gooey, full of chocolate chips and finished with sea salt flakes. It was absolute perfection. And the dog Polaroids on the door made the welcome feel even more personal: the pups who visit become part of the café, too.

BEHIND THE STOP

A small café with a wider circle.

Hola sources its coffee directly from micro farmer families across Latin America. Its empanadas and pastries come from local businesses owned by women and minorities. Vanessa opened the 700 square foot café in September 2024, carrying that support for other small businesses into the neighborhood.

What makes it different
THE ORDER

What we ordered at Hola

Two seasonal coffees, one shared favorite and a brownie worth saving room for.

OUR HOT DRINK

Maple Vanilla Bean

We ordered this seasonal coffee hot, giving us one side of Hola’s seasonal menu to try.

OUR ICED DRINK

Chantilly Lace

We tried the Chantilly Lace iced alongside the hot Maple Vanilla Bean. These were our visit’s seasonal orders.

OUR SHARED FAVORITE

Hola Empanada + chimichurri

The Hola Empanada was filled with egg, chorizo and cheese, with chimichurri alongside. We thought it was phenomenal. This is the bite that earned our shared LDK favorite tag.

THE SWEET EXTRA

Vegan + gluten free brownie

Unbelievably gooey, with chocolate chips and sea salt flakes. We would never have guessed it was vegan and gluten free from the texture. Absolute perfection.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

The details worth knowing

01

Ask about Hola Locals

The offer we learned about was $17 per week for up to ten drinks, with an initial wave of 50 memberships. That is the plan from our visit. Ask the café about current availability and which drinks are included before signing up.

02

Seasonal drinks can change

The Maple Vanilla Bean and Chantilly Lace were on the seasonal menu when we visited. Ask what is available now, and add the empanada with chimichurri if you want our favorite bite.

03

Bring your pup along

Hola was extremely dog friendly during our visit, with dog Polaroids covering the door. It is a small café, so keep that intimate space in mind when planning to settle in.
