If you are staying in Huacachina, Jaku Coffee is the breakfast stop I would send you to first. I came back every morning for all three days because it was that good.

The main entrance can feel busy, but the seating around back gave me a much calmer place to ease into the morning with coffee. That quieter setting became part of why the routine worked so well.

One useful detail changed my latte completely. Coffee temperatures are regulated here, so if you prefer yours extra hot, ask for muy caliente. It made a real difference.

When a place becomes your breakfast three mornings in a row, that is the review.

The food gave me just as much reason to return. The avocado toast used fresh sliced avocado instead of guacamole, the portions were generous and the Fit Bowl was full of fruit. If I return to Huacachina, this would be my first stop.

BEHIND THE STOP

Peruvian coffee beside the dunes

Jaku Coffee serves specialty Peruvian coffee, breakfast, brunch, desserts and snacks. This guide covers the Huacachina café, where the oasis and sand dunes sit just beyond the storefront. Jaku also lists a second location in Paracas.

WHAT TO ORDER

Build the breakfast I repeated.

These were the three pieces that kept making their way back to my table.

MY ORDER

Fit Bowl

Fresh yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, banana, mango, granola and chia seeds. It felt made for a morning before the dunes.

COFFEE TIP

Latte

Ask for muy caliente if you like your latte extra hot. That simple request made the temperature right for me.

What I would order again: The avocado toast, Fit Bowl and a latte served muy caliente.

The breakfast move: Pair the toast and bowl if you want something savory and fresh at the same table.

BEFORE YOU GO

The details worth knowing

01

Head around back

Skip the busier main entrance and look for the seating in the back if you want a quieter place to start your morning.

02

Say muy caliente

Ask for this when ordering if you prefer a hotter latte. Otherwise your coffee may arrive cooler than you expect.

03

Confirm the day

Google Maps currently lists an average spend of PEN 20 to 40 per person. Hours and menu details can change, so check the Huacachina location before visiting.
