Leila is a date night worth the wait. We had heard how quickly the restaurant books up and lucked out with a weekday reservation. That little bit of planning led to one of our most memorable date nights in North Park.
The change started as soon as the doors opened. Outside, we were still on 30th Street. Inside, the warm lighting and beautiful design completely transformed the atmosphere. It felt like the restaurant was asking us to slow down and take in the room before thinking about what to order.
Our video follows us through the space, including its staircase and intimate lighting. The setting was a big part of why the night stood out, but it was not the only thing we enjoyed. The service became one of our favorite parts of the night. By the end of dinner, our server felt like a friend. That warmth made the evening feel personal and gave us something to remember beyond the beautiful room.
The restaurant also acknowledged our date night with roses. That personal touch was memorable because it made the evening feel like our occasion mattered. Along with the connection we made with our server, it was what turned a lovely dinner into a date night we still talk about.
The roses made our date night feel special. By the end, our server felt like a friend.
We ordered the beef kubideh platter, and it was easily enough for the two of us to share. If you are trying to decide whether everyone needs a separate main, our experience is a useful starting point: this platter gave us plenty to work with alongside our other food.
The roasted garlic pita paired perfectly with the hummus. That combination deserves its own mention because it was part of what made the table feel complete, rather than just something alongside the platter.
We finished with complimentary herbal tea. After the savory food, it was the perfect way to end the meal. It was a small gesture, but one we remembered when we talked about the service afterward.
Our takeaway is that Leila worked as a whole evening. The room gave us plenty to look at, the food was generous enough to share, and the service kept the experience feeling thoughtful. For a date night where the setting matters as much as the meal, it is a place we would tell someone to plan around.
We highly recommend going on a weekday. Reservations can be hard to get, and that is how we managed to book our visit. If a weekend table is proving difficult, check weekday availability before giving up on the plan.
